A wedding is more than a ceremony. The day of a wedding is an accumulation of small events and moments that lead up to and define the day. It’s how these little events come together to form a whole, and not just the one defining moment of the passing of rings or first kiss, that creates such magic. A photographer loves these little details, because their story tells the small things that make the whole the day.
We know that ceremonies are not just about the bridal couple, but about the people who love and support them, who not only brought them together but give them the strength to stand together. Its not just about celebrating the joy of two people, but in sharing it with the loved ones in their lives. Some of the largest moments happen in a ceremony, made by one look or few words, with large impact.
“To love is not to possess,
To own or imprison,
Nor to lose one’s self in another.
Love is to join and separate,
To walk alone and together,
To find a laughing freedom
That lonely isolation does not permit.”
“It is finally to be able
To be who we really are
No longer clinging in childish dependency
Nor docilely living separate lives in silence,
It is to be perfectly one’s self
And perfectly joined in permanent commitment
To another–and to one’s inner self.”
